Description of Pilar Martínez López

El Museo del Chocolate es una idea impulsada por el Gremio Provincial de Pastelería de Barcelona, está situado en el Antiguo Convento de Sant Agustí. Precisamente el Museo del Chocolate está en un edificio que ya tuvo relación con el chocolate: en el siglo XVIII el ejército borbónico era un fanático consumidor de este producto, y según las ordenanzas, el chocolate estaba presente en los menús de las academias militares del siglo XVIII,  en el desayuno y otros momentos, tanto es así que al cuerpo de alabarderos de la guardia personal del monarca, era llamados «los chocolateros», por ser un cuerpo mimado y de élite que tomaba mucho chocolate.

Además de disfrutar del museo se pueden comprar chocolates, galletas, recuerdos, libros, etc. La visita es muy agradable, la tienda está llena de vitrinas acristaladas que permiten ver todos los productos.

El museo dispone de cuarto de baño adaptado, el de mujeres.

El Museo del Chocolate está abierto de lunes a sábado de 10 a 19 h y los domingos y festivos de 10 a 15 h. Horario de verano: El Museo estará abierto de lunes a sábado de 10h a 20h del 17 de Junio al 15 de Septiembre. Domingos y festivos de 10h a 15h. La entrada individual cuesta 5 euros, las personas con discapacidad tenemos un descuento del 20 %.
